From left, Ripon High’s co-valedictorians Gabby Melgarejo and Sahaj Gill, and salutatorian Spencer Redula will lead the Class of 2024 at the graduation ceremony tonight at Stouffer Field.

It’s not too often at Ripon High that the top three academic students share identical grade point averages.

Principal Keith Rangel indicated just that as Gabby Melgarejo, Sahaj Gill, and Spencer Redula closed out their senior year with 4.3 GPAs.

Melgarejo and Gill came out on top as co-valedictorians while Redula earned the honor of salutatorian.

In any event, all three are excited about tonight’s graduation ceremony at Stouffer Field.

“I’m looking forward to seeing my parents in the crowd,” said Gabby Melgarejo, who is the daughter of Alejandra and Nicholas Melgarejo.

She was especially excited about being accepted to Stanford University, sharing that good-news moment with her mother.

Melgarejo is looking at possible double major – Political Science and Mechanical Engineering – with her dream job being that of a corporate lawyer.

She’s a product of the Ripon Unified School District, having attended elementary school at Weston.

At RHS, Melgarejo was the co-founder of the Asian Culture Club. She was also involved in Sacred Heart, Red Cross, Scrubs, and CSF.

Sahaj Gill will be attending UC Berkeley in the fall. He plans to major in Statistics with a possible future of working in the Artificial Intelligence field.

He’s the son of Lavanya and Param Gill, and played tennis for the Indians while also being involved in Asian Culture Club.

Gill and Spencer Redula both attended Park View Elementary School.

Redula is the son of Julie and Ludovico Redula. After graduation, he’s bound for UCLA.

Redula is planning on majoring in Biology with future plans calling for work in the medical field or dentistry.

He was especially active at RHS, taking part in Leadership along with Link Crew, Scrubs, Environmental Club.

Redula even had time to do biotech research work this year at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
